Crystal Growth
Freiberger uses a two-step process to produce GaAs monocrystals. In the first step, high purity gallium and arsenic are synthesized in a high pressure vessel. The polycrystalline ingots are then re-grown using specially designed equipment for either VGF (Vertical Gradient Freeze) or LEC (Liquid Encapsulated Czochralski). The resulting monocrystalline ingots undergo a comprehensive characterization of their bulk parameters including axial and radial homogeneities to guarantee the highest standards of material quality.
